An exhibition about Alfred Russel Wallace, the other father of the theory of evolution, whose explorations and discoveries forever changed our understanding of life on Earth.
The Exhibition
The exhibition addresses the figure of Alfred Russel Wallace, naturalist, explorer and co-discoverer with Charles Darwin of the theory of evolution by natural selection.
Produced by the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturais (CSIC) and adapted for Lugo by the University of Santiago de Compostela through Campus Terra, the exhibition combines scientific rigor and dissemination accessible to all audiences.
The proposal presented in Lugo incorporates a selection of the best content from the original exhibition—shown in Madrid between 2023 and 2024—under a new name and with a program of complementary activities designed specifically for the Galician region.
The exhibition panels
Eight years of exploration through the Malay archipelago condensed into panels of scientific rigor and extraordinary visual beauty.
«An exhibition that invites you to view the world through the eyes of a 19th-century explorer who helped transform our understanding of life forever.»
